2021 Chicago Thanksgiving Parade Details

In 2020, the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade had to take a break, but it’s back and better than ever this year! This beloved holiday tradition brings participants to Chicago from around the country to showcase their talents while they get to experience the city from a most unique vantage point. Take a look at what you’ll find at the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on November 25th in the Chicago Loop. That’s early enough to start the holiday before it’s time for the feast and football! Here’s what you need to know about the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade 2021, and ways to make a visit to the Skydeck a part of your holiday!

What You’ll See at the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade 2021

Most importantly, all the participants who were approved for the cancelled Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2020 will be part of this year’s festivities. Here’s what you’ll see if you join us for the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade:

  • Giant balloons
  • Equestrian groups
  • Dance acts
  • Community groups
  • Special guests (to be announced)
  • Marching bands
  • Floats

While attendance to the parade is free, it’s recommended that you arrive really early to grab a great spot to catch all the action. Or you can buy a spot in the VIP area. Prices and details haven’t been announced at press time, but in the past, being in the VIP area not only has included prime views of the parade, but also bleacher seating and private restrooms. Can’t make it at all? Don’t worry—watch in your pajamas with your morning coffee from the comfort of home! The parade will be broadcasted on WGN9 and live-streamed at www.wgntv.com/live.

Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade Route 2021

The Chicago Thanksgiving Parade 2021 marches north on State Street, starting at Ida B. Wells Drive and ending at Randolph. It’ll pass within six blocks of the Skydeck, which makes us the perfect post-parade stop. Warm up with some incredible views as Chicago brings in the holiday season!

Make the Skydeck Part of Your Holiday Season

This Thanksgiving, the Skydeck is grateful for our visitors, more than ever before! Make a reservation for your family to visit while you’re in The Loop for the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade. Got a large group visiting Chicagoland for the holiday? We welcome groups at the Skydeck! There’s no better way for visitors to experience Chicago than with the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Skydeck!
